Celebrating 40 Years of Doing Business in Hanover
Designer Gold, located on the second floor of the Hanover Park Building (above The Skinny Pancake), has been bringing the Upper Valley artist-made jewelry since 1977. Paul Gross, Dartmouth alumnus, founder and owner of Designer Gold creates beautiful, limited edition and one-of-a kind pieces for sale in our gallery and works closely with our clients to create custom pieces to suit their own needs and tastes. In addition to Paul's commission work, we offer repair services, watch battery replacements, and free jewelry cleaning. In our gallery you will find jewelry created by Paul, but also necklaces and bracelets of pearls and semi-precious gems strung by our staff. This is something that Paul used to do; now he's turned it over to us. From time to time, we will present special exhibits of jewelry and jewelry related items.
Currently we have a special exhibit of Jeff Georgantes's jewelry and sculpture and an exhibit of mineral specimens from Paul's collection of stones and minerals. These exhibits are ongoing. New exhibits will be announced as they are organized. Sign up for our e-Newsletter to stay up to date on what's going on in our studio and gallery.
We have just put together a special exhibit of Robert Ebendorf's recent pieces. It will run from April 6 through April 21. All are welcome. Trained as a classical jeweler/metalsmith in 1962, Robert Ebendorf joined with other crafts people in pushing the boundaries of "classical" "precious" and "traditional" jewelry, and he became one of the most important influences in American craft. His by-word is "astonishment." He juxtaposes ordinary objects that normally don't go together. His aim is to boggle the mind and produce new meaning. You can find his work in the Metropolitan Museum, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian, The Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum. We are very fortunate to have Robert Ebendorf's work here.
